South Florida Free Beaches/Florida Naturist Association, Inc. is an advocate that a fair share of public lands be set aside for use by skinny-dippers and nude sun- bathers in Florida. SFFB established Haulover’s clothing-optional section in 1991, subsequently fighting for lifeguards, parking, and county recognition.
History
The founding of the South Florida Free Beaches Association was encouraged by Lee Baxandall in 1980. Later in 1991 under the Shirley Mason and her husband Richard Mason the group established clothing optional use of Haulover Beach.
SFFB has since 1994 maintained a Tallahassee lobbyist to represent our interests, and has opposed numerous bills that would have definitively criminalized social nudity in Florida and jeopardized Haulover’s clothing-optional status. SFFB is a member of The Naturist Society’s Naturist Network.
