Clothing optional beaches

Umhlanga Lagoon is also used by South African nudists, although public nudity is illegal in South Africa and viewed as indecent exposure by law.
Naturist resorts
The first nudist resort in South Africa Beau Valley was started in 1981 by Beau Brummell 6 South Africa’s self-proclaimed king ofnudity Beau Brummell dies It was plagued by allegations of apartheid among its members and pornography by the owners. The resort was removed from membership in the International Naturist Federation due to pornography allegations. The Sun Eden Naturist-Nudist Resort is located on a 35 hectare bushveld farm, about 50 km NE from Pretoria, 100 km from Johannesburg. The drive from O.R. Tambo International Airport is about 1,5 hour only.
