Naturist France
France is historically one of the countries where naturism has thrived. Along with Germany naturism in French naturism can be considered the source for modern day naturism. Many of the modern naturist advocates like Planchon and DesCamp were French. Several of the early books defining the naturist movement and practice were written by French naturists.
History

Naturist resorts or centers can be found around France. Many are located along coastal areas close to beaches. It is legal to practice naturism in France under the French penal code.
Article 222-32 of the new penal code (applicable since 1 March 1994) stipulates: “Deliberate sexual display in the sight of others in a place accessible to the public gaze is punishable by one year in prison and a fine of one hundred thousand francs “.
