Miniten

Miniten, short for miniature tennis is a sport developed by naturists to need the sporting needs of naturist venues without suffiencient space for a full sized tennis court. The sport was invented by Douglas Ogden in the 1930s ¹Miniten Early beginnings. Ogden developed the first rules and designed the game to be accessible to a broad range of people including those who are not as proficient at tennis.

The rules of Miniten were codified in 1966 by the Amateur Miniten Association. ²Miniten Early beginnings Like Pickleball Miniten is played on a rectangular court with lines similar to a tennis court but half the size. The miniten racquet or paddle is called a thug. The rules say a thug must be made of wood and meet certain specifications. There can be no protruding handle or point on the top. Many naturist venues in the UK have Miniten courts where the sport is more popular.
