Loretta Gueye was a black woman who was denied membership at the famed nudist club Sunshine Park because of her race. The 27 year old woman was invited by letter to visit the park. But she her companion and two daughters were was turned away upon arrival. 1 Naked: A Cultural History of American Nudism Mrs Gueye had experienced nudism in Europe and Africa.
