June Lange

June Lange (née Poole) discovered social nudity and nudism through her study of body acceptance in the field of psychology. June and her husband Ed Lange sought to modernize American nudist magazines to reflect a more realistic portrayal of nudism that was less oriented towards the classical European style magazines. They wanted to share more of the family aspect of American nudism. The result was the May 1953 issue of Sun Tan magazine for which June served as both editor and cover model.

Lange along with her husband played key role in establishing a nudist publishing organization. They published several journals including 1967 iconic Naked and Together: the Wonderful Webbers featuring her friend and nudist photo icon Diane Webber. The couple later divorced and June”s presence in nudist publishing disappeared. 1 Ed and June Nudist Clubhouse (Web archive)
