Henry S. Huntington Jr. (1882-1981) was a Presbyterian minister who joined the American League for Physical Culture in 1929. He discover the naturist movement during trips made to Germany. Huntington was an early member of the American nudist movement and considered one of its pioneers.
Huntington helped to develop the first guiding principles of the ALPC and became the first International Nudist Conference. He promoted the healthy benefits of nudism and established the Burgoyne Trail Nudist Camp, in Massachusetts. Huntington went on to be the first editor of the nudist magazine The Nudist (Sunshine and Health) and addressed the first American nudist convention held in 1932. 1 HENRY S. Huntington was also involved through his brother in the eugenics movement.
