Cecile Allain

Cécile Allain’s was a spotlight of American Sunbathing Association history, a half-century ago. Cécile’s parents were nudists and raised their only daughter as one. Born in the Massachusetts town of Taunton on Cape Cod, she moved with her parents to the West Coast when she was fifteen. There she attended El Capitan High School. As a member of the now closed Swallows Sun Island Resort near El Cajón, California. 1Swallows/Sun Island Resort has closed!, she often greeted members and visitors with a radiant smile and her genuine nature. Cécile  was  an active participant in nudist pageants at the sun clubs around Southern California, and worked at Frontier Land (a themed amusement park that next to Swallows). After graduating from high school,  Cécile attended San Diego State College for six semesters; she also met Richard, a fellow student, whom she married in the summer prior to her senior year. The couple moved to the Los Angeles area, where Cécile enrolled at California State University, Long Beach (California State College at Long Beach) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.

Magazine favorite

Allain’s photos graced the pages dozens of nudist magazine and covers during the 1960s. She was completely at ease with being in front of the camera, presenting a real vivaciousness and love for the clothes-free life. Cécile disappeared from the Southern California nudist community in the early 1970s but her inspirational images remind many of the pioneering days of Southern California nudism. 2CÉCILE ALLAIN
