Other cultures came from outside Indonesia, such as India, Arab, China and Western (European) countries. Those various cultures have influenced the culture in Indonesia. One of many cultural influences, is what we called “nudism”. Many people still believe that nudism and clothes free living only happens in western countries. That is only partly right, Indonesia also has a nudism culture, a cultural traditional of clothes free life, and it is hundred of years old. Social and public nudity is currently illegal in Indonesia despite its history. Most Indonesian naturists practice their way of life ins secret.3Indonesia’s secret nudist community defying the law This has cut them off from the international naturist community as naturist web sites are blocked. Naturists sometimes go into hiding to protect themselves from government scrutiny. Public opinion and lack of education about naturism, (social nudity is sexual) create limited options for naturists.
