In 1936 Rev. Ilsley (‘Uncle Danny’) Boone, the “czar”of the nudist movement in the USA, fought success- fully to win official recognition for the First Amendment rights of nudist publications.

More recently a genre of naturist fiction was developed with several authors writing for the naturist audience.
