
Naga Sadhus or naked sages/saints/philosophers/wisemen are a religious group in India which practices nakedness as a part of its spirituality. They are seen as a sect within Hinduism They generally follow the Vedic yogic traditions found of Yamas and Niyamas, 1Wikipedia Dasnanami Nagu Sadhus are prominent participants in the Kumba Mela festival.
The Sadhus renounce most worldly possessions including clothing. Because of these religious practices of renunciation of clothes they are often referred to as skyclad.
Historians acknowledge that a Sadhu was largely responsible for introductions social and athletic nudity to Greek culture through his influence on Alexander the Great. Alexander encountered the Sadhus on his conquest on Asia and was impressed and influenced by what he learned.
