Nudism

Nudism from the Latin nudus (Nude) is the term used to describe social clothing optional activity in North American particularly the United States.

Nudism, also called naturism, is the practice of being naked whenever the opportunity is available.

Modern nudism exists since the early 1900s. Its origins lie in Germany, where the “Frei Körper Kultur”, the Free Body Culture emerged. 1A German Affair From Germany it spread out to the Netherlands and England, and from there it progressed all over the world.

Nudism myths

One nudism myth is nudism is associated with sex. This is definitely not a fact. Nudists try to live an ordinary life. They just don’t want the constraints of clothing while they live that life.

Nudism has a negative connotation in some parts of the world,  naturism is used instead. In most cases naturism and nudism are the same thing. For others there is a distinct difference between those two terms.
Some nudists in the US affiliate with an established organization and clubs like those who are members of such as the American Association for Nude Recreation.

Some nudists are only nude regularly in their home.  to their home. From this comes the term ‘home nudist’.
