Bill and Fran Flesher bought Oakdale Ranch and renamed it Treehouse Fun Ranch. The family including a grandmother and 16 grandchildren were active nudists. The couple were introduced to nudism through a 1963 afternoon swim with friends. Though initially hesitant, the couple followed the lead of their kids who enjoyed skinny dipping in the pool.
Weeks later the couple and their friends visited Swallows Sun Island Resort to explore social nudism further. They were so engaged seeing all the families participating that they returned home to collect their children and return to participate as families.
The couple read an article in Time magazine about the struggles of Oakdale Ranch. They sold their home and closed on the property in 1972. After six months of renovation the Fleshers their children and 500 guests reopened the newly renamed Treehouse Fun Ranch. The Treehouse continued to have relative success through the 1980s. They hosted several events including nudist pageants, nude chili and spaghetti contests nude skydiving and western stunt shows. They developed a true ranch atmosphere with farm animals. Ranch membership was opened to families with children. At one point up to 150 residents were members at the Treehouse Fun Ranch
The ranch continued to operate successfully for the next decade, the Flesher children grew from children to adults. Bill’s health deteriorated over time. After his death the children decided to sell the property.
