Performances
Barely Proper was extensively performed in nudist/naturist clubs including the Circle H Nude Ranch in the 1960’s and 1970’s as a fundraiser. The 90 minute play had a brief run on Broadway during the 69-70 season 40 years after being published under the title Grin and Bare It 2Barely Memorable The performance at Circle H Nude Ranch concluded with an invitation by owner Lucille Hansen to audience member to join the cast in the pool for what was for many their first skinny dip experience. 3They can’t get any nuder

In 2011 folks at Bare Oaks Naturist Camp performed a radio-play adaptation recorded at Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park on August 4, 2011 during the Naturist Festival.
The play was adapted and updated for the stage at the Hollywood Fringe Festival by Steve Vlasak – Disrobed why so clothes minded. Hollywood-based director/writer/actor Troy Peterson adapted the play for a virtual theater event Disrobed 2021 in response to the covi-19 shut down of the live theater production. DisRobed is a comedic “Meet the parents” update on the play starring Troy Peterson (a self described naturist), Eloise Gordon, Ian Hayes, Shaley Gunther, Dave McClain and Karen Lasater.
