The naturist symbol

In October 2020 online naturists around the world were given an opportunity to vote their preference to a symbol of naturism. Several rounds of voting were conducted. 1Naturist symbol history Most of the voting and discussion was on Twitter, using the hashtag #NaturistSymbol.

Design process

The symbol was designed in a three-step process with each step  building directly on the previous one. The process  was also  developed to be as open and transparent as possible.The design chosen was from Jacob Braun, www.sillybare.com. Erik (@NatamsNL on Twitter) set up a web site, so that interested parties have the opportunity to download – free of charge – the symbol in a variety of formats. The Naturist Symbol has its own official Twitter account: @NaturistSymbol and BlueSky @naturistsymbol.bsky.social. Graphic images can be downloaded from the web site. You’ll also find archives, FAQs, and some information about Jacob (@sillybare), the designer of the symbol that won, and Erik on the site.
